Welcome to Build-a-Chip

Let’s figure out VLSI design, one step at a time.

When I first got interested in how computer chips are actually designed, I noticed that most online guides were either too basic or way too complicated for a beginner. It felt like there was no good starting point for someone still in school.

So, I decided to build this website. It’s my project to share what I’m learning about VLSI in a simple and straightforward way. My goal is to create the resource I wish I had – a place for other students and anyone curious to understand the fundamentals without getting overwhelmed.

Here’s what I’m working on getting up first:

  • Breaking down the absolute essentials of digital logic.
  • A simple introduction to Hardware Description Languages (HDLs).
  • A clear map of the entire chip design process, from start to finish.

The site is under construction right now, but I’ll be posting the first articles very soon. Bookmark the page and check back if you want to learn along with me!
